Umbrella Company FAQs
Are you an agency, self employed or a contractor and considering working with an umbrella company for the first time?
You can claim expenses that your agency or end client have agreed to pay to cover costs incurred on their behalf. This amount is remitted to us in addition to your basic pay. You’ll need to complete a claims form so we can validate the expenses, according to HRMC guidelines, to check whether they are tax-free.
Mileage expenses can be claimed, subject to our verification checks, when you drive your own vehicle to a temporary place of work that is significantly different to your regular commute.
You get a consistent employment record and access to entitlements such as a workplace pension, holiday pay and maternity/paternity leave. In short, all the benefits of continuous employment as a contractor without the administrative burden of running your own limited company.
Our usual margin is £20 per week but we are offering at the moment a £15 discounted rate per payslip per week.
We will submit your Pay As You Earn (PAYE) and National Insurance Contributions (NICs) to HMRC. All tax deductions will be paid to HMRC directly by us so you don’t need to worry about unexpected tax bills.
Your holiday pay can be accrued – held by us in a fund and paid to you when you take holiday. Alternatively, you can choose to get your holiday pay upfront, along with your regular weekly or monthly payments. You can tell us your preference by ticking a box in your Employment Contract.
You will become an employee of Paybrella Ltd and you will be contracted out on short-term assignments to end clients. We will receive from your agency the full uplifted rate for your assignment and you will get paid net of any employment costs. You will receive a salary and a discretionary profit-sharing bonus from us.
You, or your agency, need to submit your timesheet each week (or if you are a monthly biller, once a month). Once your timesheet has been approved and your agency has sent us the funds, we will pay you the same day.
